If you're on the hunt for a delightful breakfast spot in Eugene, look no further than GJ's Family Restaurant. Nestled at 1563 W 6th Ave, this charming diner promises a memorable dining experience that perfectly combines cozy atmosphere, hearty portions, and an extensive menu that caters to all tastes.

The moment you step inside, the vibrant energy of this neighborhood gem embraces you, echoing with the laughter and chatter of satisfied customers. Guests rave about the friendly service that makes you feel right at home, which is just as important as the food itself. As Hannah Hanley puts it, “You need to go here! Food was so good!” and her sentiments resonate throughout numerous reviews.

Breakfast lovers will be delighted by their offerings, from the iconic Short Stack pancakes that are hefty and bursting with flavor, to the crispy and fluffy hash browns that make for a perfect accompaniment. For those seeking a twist, try the omelette version of Eggs Benedict, as mentioned by Jerilyn Iacovetto, who found it to be a deliciously filling experience. The generous portions ensure you won't leave hungry!

Vegetarians are not overlooked either, with selections like the savory French Toast. Add a side of guacamole or salsa to elevate your meal—ensuring that every palate is satisfied. It’s clear that GJ's takes pride in their offerings, fueling your day with the best farm-fresh ingredients available.

For those who lean toward lunch, the chili cheese burger and deli sub sandwiches have garnered quite a positive buzz, making it a versatile spot for all-day dining. With prices that won't break the bank—even as noted by the delighted customers—each dish feels like a steal.

While some dishes may have left room for improvement—like the request for real maple syrup on pancakes—the overall dining experience remains exceptional. The bustling atmosphere with its busy kitchen adds a zing to your meal, making it part of the fun. Eileen F accurately captures the essence of GJ's when she states, "Everything is beyond Giant portions & it's all fresher than fresh."

In conclusion, GJ's Family Restaurant stands out as a goto destination for anyone craving a home-cooked breakfast or a hearty lunch. With its warm ambiance, delightful dishes, and a menu that refuses to compromise on flavor, you’ll find yourself planning a return visit before you've even finished your meal. You need to go here! Food was so good! Service was prompt & friendly. Atmosphere is neighborhood diner & so cute. Prices were amazing!

Great family diner with huge portions, great food & nice people. The menu has lots of options for different palates. We dove right in & forgot to take pictures… I got the Special, which was an omelette version of Eggs Benedict & hubby got the chili cheese burger. Both were really good & a LOT of food. We will definitely go back!

I’m from out of town and was looking for a decent place to grab some breakfast. After looking through the reviews from several restaurants in the area, I decided to give this place a try. I was NOT disappointed! The food here was delicious, great prices, friendly service and ample parking in their parking lot. The pancakes were literally the size of a dinner plate and thick! They tasted great. The fresh fruit was fantastic and not over-ripe or mushy like some places I’ve been to. The coffee was great as well. They also have lunch items but my experience is limited to the breakfast items. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience and will definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Thank you for providing good quality food with great prices and friendly service! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Pancakes: moist and flavorful, but also tough and glutinous. The syrup was basic and not real maple syrup. The butter was a fake vegetable oil butter substitute Hash browns: crispy on outside and fluffy on inside, but unseasoned. Which I fixed myself at the table Chicken fried steak: crispy and good. Well seasoned. The gravy is the same with the biscuits and gravy Biscuits and gravy: the biscuits were rather obviously store bought and dry. But they were okay. The gravy was seriously lacking enough sausage and alt. More sausage would have fixed the salt and flavor issue. Overall, I didn’t mind it. Coffee: black, mid.

Other than the extreme noise of a jammed packed place, with a ton of happy, fullfilled folks talking & eating, this place is the Cat's Pajamas!!! Everything is beyond Giant portions & it's all fresher than fresh. Been here a few times & I will keep coming back! By the way, their Biscuits are plate sized & so light & fluffy. I have never, ever, had a bad meal here! One person in our party ordered Lunch, he had a Chili Size with Homefries & the rest of us ordered Breakfast.

The food and service was amazing. Huge potions great prices. Will definitely be our new breakfast place and will recommend to everyone.

This place is very cozy. It's decorated nicely and has a homey feel to it. The food was good; it was what you would expect from a diner. The portions are HUGE. The price point is perfect for the amount of food you get. I took half my burrito home, it was so filling and delicious. The biscuits are huge! The gravy was good, too. I'll definitely be going back.
